At the Mattapoisett Museum, we believe that learning is an ongoing process. Our museum offers dynamic programs and educational opportunities for everyone. We highly prioritize providing learning opportunities for all our visitors, including school group visits, lectures, walking tours, and research resources. Please let us know what your educational needs are, and how we can help.
LECTURES
Delight and excite the entire family. Our programs and lectures offer great educational opportunities for all ages. Our promise at the Mattapoisett Museum is to offer an unbeatable educational experience for each visitor in the greater Mattapoisett area.
RESEARCH
Admission is free for Mattapoisett Museum members. However, all visitors planning to engage in research must arrange an appointment.
We allow 15 minutes of free research time on the first visit by non-members. At the conclusion of this time, non-member researchers will be charged at the rates listed below.
Non-members $5/appointment.
Spouses or guests who accompany the researcher are admitted for $5, regardless of their involvement in the research process.
Youth under the age of 18 are admitted free when accompanied by an adult.
SCHOOL GROUPS
The Mattapoisett Museum’s education programs make history personal and meaningful through engaging and content-rich experiences from pre-K to grade 12. Education programs align with the Massachusetts History and Social Science Framework and reinforce Common Core goals.
Resources for Educators include pre- and post- activities that complement the Mattapoisett Museum’s education programs and curriculum.
